MORE than £800,000 has been set aside to fund pot hole repairs in Derbyshire.

A rise in reports of pot holes to around 1,000 each week has prompted Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet to earmark £824,000 to help address the problem.

County council highways inspectors and motorists have reported problems and external contractors will be brought in to help clear the backlog and improve the condition of roads across Derbyshire, which have been hit by flooding and heavy snow in recent months.
