A LIST of shops licensed to legally sell fireworks has been published on the county council’s website.
he legal selling period for bonfire night fireworks is from Tuesday, October 15 to Sunday, November 10 but a few specialist firework businesses that have an additional sales licence and can supply the all year round.
A public register of authorised firework stores has been published by Derbyshire County Council ahead of this year’s bonfire night celebrations.
Derbyshire County Council’s deputy cabinet member for health and communities Councillor Ellie Wilcox said: “We want to make sure people can enjoy their bonfire celebrations in safety.
“Every year our trading standards team licence firework outlets across the county. Officers carry out inspections to check that their stocks are stored correctly and fireworks meet safety standards.
“We recommend that anyone thinking of buying fireworks checks the register to ensure that they’re getting them from a recognised source.”
