FIRST choice secondary or high school places have been allocated to 96 per cent of parents in Staffordshire.

And, almost 99 per cent of parents in the county have been allocated one of their top three preferred schools.

Confirmations of secondary and high school places were sent out in writing to parents last week by Staffordshire County Council.

The authority has processed 8185 applications since November 1 last year.

Staffordshire also had a record 82 per cent of parents apply online for school places in 2012.
