DERBYSHIRE county council has been backing a push to find foster homes for 112 children.
As part of National Adoption Week the authority has helped with the week-long campaign, which ended on Sunday, to find more about becoming adoptive parents.
In Derbyshire a total of 65 children were adopted between November 2011 and 31 October 2012 - ranking the county third nationally - but bosses say more parents are needed.
Councillor Barry Lewis, cabinet member for young people said: “An adoptive parent can come from any background or culture.
“The only essential quality is that they can provide unconditional love for a child.
