WALKING around the Green Man’s interior, which has been largely untouched since spring 2012, it’s obvious why work isn’t due to start on its renovation any time soon.
There are 300 keys to sort through and most of the rooms are locked. Half-full pint glasses have been left on bars, drip trays are full and fridges and freezers still contain food.
Newspapers are dotted around bearing the date of April 28 and the building has suffered from the incessant rain of last year, with a few leaks and damp patches.
Before the Green Man can be nursed back to health, there’s a lot of clearing up that needs to be done.
