AN ASHBOURNE jewellery firm has stayed true to its promise and will present this year’s two Shrovetide goal scorers with engraved watches worth up to £400.

Up’ard David Spencer and Down’ard James Carter each took home a ball from Shrovetide this year and soon they will be presented with brand new watches to mark their achievement.

The Hugo Boss have been given out for several years by family-run firm CW Sellors, which has a base in Victoria Square and King Street, and they will each be engraved with names and times of goals.

Kerrie Edmunds, CW Sellors Ashbourne boutique manager said: “Shrovetide is such an important event in the town and it is important for us as a local business to support this event as much as possible.

“We are honoured to be able to present David and James with commemorative Hugo Boss watches in tribute to their achievement in goaling the 2013 balls and we look forward to continuing to support the game for many more years to come.”
