A CELEBRATION has been held by the bosses of a holiday company to celebrate the ownership of Blore Hall, near Ilam.
The Holiday Property Bond opened Blore Hall in 1998, following two years of restoration work and it now encompasses 20 properties, a swimming pool and club house.
Bosses estimate that the property has been visited by around 45,000 holiday-makers since it opened which, they calculate, has pumped more than £7 million in to the area’s economy.
At the garden party, a speech was given by the original architect Liz Walker and a tribute was paid to Carol Nelson, who retires in December as Site Manager, having spent 15 years in the post.
Guests at the party, which was held in Blore Hall’s grounds, included site staff, bond holders and invited representatves of the surrounding tourism industry.
Tours were given of the entire property and afternoon tea was served.
The celebration also coincided with the anniversary of the bond’s 30th year.
It began with just one property in Tenerife and now owns 1,347 properties across Britain and Europe.
