A MASSIVE crane is carried through Ashbourne's historic high street, on the back of a long articulated lorry that struggled to pull its heavy load up the steep Market Place.
At one point in this short clip, filmed at around lunch time on Wednesday, smoke can be seen pouring from its tyres as they scrabble for grip on the wet tarmac, which had seen a small flurry of snow before the truck came through.
Calls have been made for many years in Ashbourne for the completion of the A52 bypass but transport projects in other parts of the county have moved Ashbourne down the priority list and, to date, no plans are on the horizon.
