ASHBOURNE school children are being urged to take more interest in nature and the environment.
This call to action comes after the National Park Management Plan Advisory Group reported its annual findings to the Peak District National Park Authority.
The management plan sets out the long term vision for the area and is reviewed every five years.
Chairman of the Peak District National Park Authority Councillor Tony Favell said: “Inspiring youngsters to get excited about the natural environment and cultural heritage of the national park is key to safeguarding the Peak District into the future.
“Over the coming months we will be looking for corporate sponsors to help make sure that all young people have the opportunity to visit the national park.”
