A TEENAGER from a village near Ashbourne is hoping to receive a crown fit for a queen as she competes to be named Miss Teen Queen UK.
Jessica Preston, of Rocester, was scouted to take part in the competition after being spotted at an event in London and the 16-year-old ‘s pictures were sent off to a panel of judges and out of 80 girls in Jessica’s heat, she was chosen to be one of the 50 that went through to the next round.
All of the girls were then put onto the Teen Queen website and had to get the public to vote to be in the top two.
Unfortunately Jessica was not one of the chosen ones but when one of the competitors pulled out she was picked by the judges to step into her place.
She said: “It is just amazing especially as I got in through being scouted. I really didn’t think that anything would come of it as there were 19,500 girls in the competition.”
Jessica now faces more challenges before she can be in with a chance of being crowned overall winner.
The winner will go on to represent her nation around the world.
