PLANS by an Ashbourne firm to build a new tourism, education and business hub on the banks of Carsington Water have been given the support of Ashbourne’s MP.
CW Sellors, which wants to replace its King Street head quarters with a £3 million new facility, has caught the eye of Derbyshire Dales MP and Government transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin at a trade show in London.
Mr McLoughlin met with the family at the helm of CW Sellors and discussed the proposal with them in detail before giving his full support for the project.
He said: “I was delighted to learn more about Sellors’ ambitious project.
“I believe it has the potential to offer a diversity of employment in a rural area.
“The company is to be commended for its vision and I wish the scheme every success.”
Owner Chris Sellors said: “We are delighted that Patrick is so supportive of our plans, seeing the benefits not only for the local economy but also for Derbyshire nationwide and for British Manufacturing as a whole.”
