AN evening of entertainment in memory of an Ashbourne fireman is to raise awareness and funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity.
The evening of music and dancing with Paul Martyn at Ashbourne Golf Club has been organised by Annie and Chris Webster in memory of their close friend Dave Munt, who died aged 49.
Mrs Webster said: "Dave's daughter, Liv Munt is very active in raising awareness and this is about awareness as much as funding. That's the legacy.
"She asked us if there was anyway we could help. I said I knew this great entertainer and we could put on a charity night, and that is where it stemmed from.
"We need people to buy tickets in advance as Paul is a very popular entertainer." An acclaimed singer and saxophonist, Paul Martyn is also a disco DJ and has a wide-ranging repertoire offering suitable music for all occasions.
The fund-raising event is on Saturday, January 21 from 7.30pm and will include late night snacks by Nigel. Tickets are £22 available from Nigel the Butchers, Dove Child or by telephoning Annie Webster on 01335 345037.
