LITTLE stars have shone brightly on stages, in school halls, village halls and churches across the Ashbourne area in the run up to Christmas.
Joined by a host of angels, shepherds, wise men, sheep, Marys, Josephs, Baby Jesus’ and even the odd camel, schoolchildren across the area have retold the Nativity story as part of their Christmas celebrations.
News Telegraph photographers, Mark Dudley and Geoff Merryweather have been out to school Nativity plays across the area in a bid to capture some of those most precious moments shared by proud parents, grandparents, family and friends.
While many schools stick to the traditional Nativity play, carefully retelling one of the world’s most powerful stories, others took a creative approach to linking the modern world in with the Nativity story, exploring how the Birth of Jesus is still relevant to children across the world today.
With just hours to go before children across the Ashbourne area will be eagerly ripping open their gifts from Santa, the News Telegraph marks the moment when the true meaning of Christmas was told by all the areas little stars.
