A NEW political grouping has been formed on East Staffordshire Borough Council.
The group, made up of the four Conservative councillors who resigned the Conservative Group whip back in May will be known as the East Staffordshire Independent Group.
The Conservatives will lose overall control of the authority but will remain the largest group with 18 councillors.
Labour remains the second-largest group with 16 councillors.
The East Staffordshire Independent Group will have four councillors and the Liberals will remain with one councillor.
Councillor Nathan Birnie, a party member of UKIP, will be the Leader of the new group, as an independent councillor on East Staffordshire Borough Council.
