POLICE are investigating another attack by vandals that led to the closure of a facility used by the elderly residents of Ashbourne.
Town hall staff were forced to close the town council-run Elderly Person’s Rest Room in St John Street on Wednesday afternoon, after damage was caused to its interior by a small group of people.
Light fittings had been smashed, tables were upturned and a large dent was put into one of the shelter’s heaters in the latest incident, which took place at around lunch time on Wednesday last week.
A spokesman for Ashbourne Police said one person had been interviewed in connection with the damage, and they were keen to speak to two others.
