Rain to follow the cold snap

Will it ever stop raining? Will it ever stop raining?

THE current cold snap is due to turn in to a spell of torrential rain, weather forecasters warn.

Ashbourne has seen temperatures plunge to around -4C plus a crippling windchill brought on by strong gusts from Scandinavia and the North Sea.

Snow flurries during Monday and Tuesday failed to have any significant impact on much of the area but heavy rain forecast over the next few days is likely to bring slightly warmer temperatures along with it.

Early predictions for next week’s outlook suggest it should be drier with the chance of sunny spells and less rain than this week, but overnight temperatures will still remain low and no long term break from the frosts and cold winds is on the cards yet.
