A ROAD safety drive by police will see officers visit schools offering free gear to help motorists and pedestrians.
Car windscreen scrapers, high visibility bags for school kids, stickers and key rings with safety advice will be dished out by Safer Neighbourhood Teams as part of Derbyshire Police’s Operation Lifeguard.
The teams will visit schools across the Derbyshire Dales at school drop-off and pick-up times to talk to parents about issues on the roads including the importance of fitting booster seats correctly, the dangers of speeding or using a mobile phone at the wheel and safety issues around driving when pregnant.
The free items have been given to police by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
