HOLLYWOOD epic Robin Hood, featuring scenes filmed minutes from the centre of Ashbourne, will hit cinemas in May.
Australian movie star Russell Crowe called in to Ashbourne during filming for the forthcoming big-budget film, which took place in parts of Thorpe and Dovedale.
The movie tells the classic tale of legendary character Robin Hood, but early trailers suggest the story will take on a dramatic and exciting twist with plenty of fastmoving action and suspense thrown in for good measure.
The movie, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, is due to screen in the UK from May 14.
