SANTA Claus really is coming to town.
The annual Santa’s float will be making its way around Ashbourne from Sunday, December 15 until Thursday, December 19.
This year the team of volunteers accompanying Santa will be collecting donations for the town’s defibrillator project as well as the Mayor’s charities.
So far the fund-raising campaign has resulted in two of the planned five lifesaving kits going live, one on Preston’s garage on Derby Road and the other outside David Neill’s in Compton.
On Sunday, December 15 the float will start at 6pm and travel along Peak View Drive, Old Derby Road, Thorpe View Estate, Weaver Close, Mumford Drive, Lambourne Avenue, Derwent Gardens, Goodall’s Estate behind the former Miraj hotel, Derby Road and Springfield Avenue.
On Monday, starting at the same time, it will visit Willow Meadow Road, including the Tree estate, The Shires estate, Spencer Close and Wyaston Road.
The schedule for Tuesday is 6pm from King Street, Auction Close, Spalden Avenue, Boothby Avenue, Cokayne Avenue, Hall Lane, Green Road, Manor Road estate, Windmill Lane and North Avenue.
Wednesday from 6pm the parade travels along Union Street, Northcliffe Road, Belle Vue Road, Mayfield Road, Clifton Road Estate, Lodge Farm Chase estate, Bernard Gadsby Close, Station Street and Compton.
Finally on Thursday starting at 6pm it will visit Peter’s Street, Park Estate, Belper Road, Sturston Road, Taylor Court and St John’s.
