A SCHEME that helps people stay warm through winter by linking an energy provider with local organisations has helped thousands of people.

Energy supplier NPower’s Health Through Warmth scheme, which is available in Ashbourne, saw more than 2,000 referrals across the UK this winter and managed to find £1.2 million to help vulnerable people.

Elaine Midwinter, npower Health Through Warmth scheme manager, comments: “Living in a cold home can have a severe impact on health, so we are pleased that we have been able to assist so many people this winter.

“Even though the freezing weather is hopefully behind us for another year, help is still available thanks to our partnerships with organisations such as home improvement agencies and charities.”
