A SPONSORED swim has raised £3,500 for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
Schools, clubs and fund-raisers across Derbyshire took part in the British Heart Foundation celebration swim to help boost the coffers of the charity.
Children from Hartington were recognised for their efforts in fund-raising, with Hartington C of E Primary School in Buxton being presented with the Challenge Shield for the highest fund-raising school and Hartington Young People’s Activity Club presented with the trophy for the highest fund-raising club.
Ashbourne fund-raising branch chairman John Dean said: “We were delighted to see so many swimmers participating – some who swam last year, and also some new faces.
“I would like to say a very special thank you to the sponsors who kindly provided the winning prizes.
“Their support was invaluable and enabled our swimmers to have something wonderful to aim for when fundraising for their sponsored swim.
“Participants completed anything from one to 50 lengths each and we are proud of every single participant – well done and thank you.”
