THE leader of Derbyshire County Council has thanked the people of Ashbourne who have taken part in a scheme aimed at lowering energy costs.
Ashbourne householders are among more than 8,000 people in the county signing up to ‘Derbyshire Big Deals’ which sees people collectively switching energy providers in the hunt for cheaper rates.
By signing up to the scheme on the authority’s websites, participants are shown how much they could save on their bills by switching suppliers.
Derbyshire County council’s leader Andrew Lewer said: “If you have already joined Big Deals – thank you. At the end of this month we will be in touch to tell you how much you could save on your bills.”
The scheme will continue until 6pm on Wednesday and to find out more or to sign up visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/bigdeals or call in to Ashbourne Library.
