AN ASHBOURNE horse expert has qualified two horses for the for the prestigious National Dressage Championships.
Sue Carson, who runs Sue Carson Saddles in Brassington, and judges at the top Grand Prix level of the sport, has qualified her horse Prince for the Open Medium Championship at the forthcoming National Dressage Championships in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
The qualification has followed success at the Regional Championships in East Yorkshire and she will now compete alongside all of the leading riders on a national stage.
Another horse, Beaujolais Primeur, has also qualified for a place in the national competition.
She said; “I am delighted that both horses have got through to our National Championships.
“Only eight per cent of the growing membership qualify each year and this year, the Open Medium Championship reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of dressage.
“It will be a tremendously exciting few days and we’ve got a large Sue Carson Saddles trade stand there too, so it will also be busy period.”
