ORGANISERS of a sponsored cycle ride with a difference say they are on the way to smashing their fund-raising target.
Carole and Phil Hassall, who are planning a 14 mile ride from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne along the High Peak and Tissington Trail bridleways, have so far raised more than £800, close to their £1,000 target which will be donated to the MS Society.
Mrs Hassall, who suffers from MS will take on the challenge on Sunday, March 30 in a hand-powered tricycle and hopes to reach the Ashbourne finishing line, at Sainsbury’s supermarket by around 1pm.
She said: “People have been so amazingly generous, we’ve been really pleased by how the fund-raising has been going to so far and we’re really grateful to everyone that’s supported us.”
The couple will be joined by a convoy of supporters on bicycles, horses and they are also planning a concert at which they will announce their total next month.
