A COMMUNITY charity is to hold its first ever apple day.
Alton Community Event Group is holding the event at Spond Farm, Gallows Green in Alton on Sunday from noon until 5pm.
There will be many activities including apple crushing and pressing demonstrations, advice on bee-keeping, a green wood-worker, apple bobbing and music by musicians from the area.
Peakstones Brewery, from the village, will be running a bar selling ciders and beer and there will be hot food, teas, coffee, apple cakes, basket-making and spinning and weaving demonstrations.
There will also be apple trees for sale together with advice offered on apple tree care.
A charity spokesman said: “This is our first apple day and we hope to develop it over the coming years so that everyone can get involved”.
