ONE of the Ashbourne area’s most popular village shows is set to take place this weekend.
The Turnditch and Windley Show begins on Saturday at The Showground in the village of Windley and will include attractions such as falconry displays, horse and carriage driving, a shire horse parade and a pet show.
The Scarsdale Veterinary Group has agreed to support the show, which begins at 8am when the marquee opens for the flower and produce entries, and will be in attendance on the day.
At 9.30am the horse and pony competitions get underway and at 10am the marquee will close for judging, to be re-opened at at 1.30pm.
The main ring attractions will start at 11am with the horse and carriage driving followed by the shire horse parade at 1pm.
Refreshments will be available until 4pm with a hog roast, barbecue and a Shottle Brewery bar.
