Notty lends her costume skills

A VINTAGE clothing expert is lending her expertise for a free valuation day with a firm of antiques experts.

Notty Hornblower, who runs Hope House Museum in Alstonefield and has been collecting old clothing for decades, is spending the day with Hansons Auctioneers at their base in Etwall this month.

Mrs Hornblower will be at The Auction Centre in Heage Lane, Etwall on Wednesday, January 29 from 10am until 4pm to give visitors and members of the public free valuations on their items, including vintage textiles and costumes.

From her museum, which is also open as a restoration workshop, Mrs Hornblower holds a huge collection of frocks, gowns baby and children’s outfits and thousands of accessories including a large collection of hats.
