CORNISH Horizons have a new jewel in their crown with the addition of St Docwin to their burgeoning portfolio.
This beautifully restored Methodist Chapel is nestled deep in the tranquil Cornish countryside, in the enchanting hamlet of Trequite near the village of Port Isaac and the outstanding North Cornish coastline.
St Docwin was originally built in 1871 and the date stone can still be seen above the door in the kitchen.
The original Chapel was initially converted into a house in 1912 but it was not until 2006 when the previous owners purchased the property that substantial change happened.
St Docwin has, unbelievably, only been offered for sale twice in over 100 years!
The main living room and kitchen include many original features such as the high beamed ceilings and stone walls, while the use of reclaimed wood, slate floors and stone has been used on the more modern additions.
The first of the double bedrooms has gorgeous full height windows overlooking the garden, and its own en suite shower room.
Next door, is the children’s elegant bunk bedroom.
In the stylish family bathroom, a luxurious free standing bath takes centre stage, while the lounge houses an impressive hanging wood burning stove, for use in the colder months, stone walls and beautiful bay windows.
An open-plan landing boasts stunning full height windows overlooking the garden and a children’s area with bean bags, TV and Blu-ray DVD player.
Upstair there are also two more wonderfully designed double bedrooms, one of which has an en suite.
Outside, the terrace is home to a cosy seating area, contemporary outside fire and barbecue.
The games room is also on the terrace and includes a 6ft pool table, TV and wood burning stove.
St Docwin is available to rent on a self-catering basis through Cornish Horizons (01841 533 331), and weeks for 2014 are available to book now.
