Police are reminding people to be alert after receiving reports of door to door salesmen operating in nearby villages.
During the evening of Tuesday, February 4, police received several calls about men going door to door in Hulland Ward and Parwich offering goods for sale.
It is important to ask for identification from these types of callers.
Legitimate pedlars will carry a document which is issued by the police to people who apply to sell door to door.
They list the particulars of a seller and are signed by a senior police officer.
Anyone with concerns about cold callers should call 101.
