ASHBOURNE families with pre-school children are being invited to join a nature club to find out more about the life of plants.

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s Nature Tots at Carsington Water will be learning about plants at a meeting on Monday, February 3.

Based in the wildlife discovery room, the group will have the opportunity to find out more about the parts of a plant.

In addition the children can learn what plants need to grow and create their own ‘grassy head’ to take home and look after.

They can also bring a touch of colour to February by making a paper plate sunflower.

Nature Tots is suitable for accompanied children aged 3 and over.

The event runs from 10am until 11.30am and costs £3 per child, which includes a drink and a snack.

Bookings should be made in advance.

More information is available by calling 01773 881188.
