A HOUSING association with responsibility for properties in Ashbourne has been shortlisted for three awards.

Derwent Living, which manages homes on Cavendish Drive and Lathkill Drive, is hoping for success at this year’s Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Central Awards.

The Derby-based organisation is up for awards in digital engagement, co-regulation and tenant-led scrutiny at the ceremony which takes place in March.

Resident involvement manager Mitch Allseybrook said: “I’m thrilled that our hard work has been rewarded with these nominations.

“Our work on improving our digital offering has meant customers can keep in touch with us in many different ways.

“For instance, in the last 18 months we’ve launched a secure website where customers can manage their accounts and get involved, a mobile app for phones and tablets and our social media channels are engaging with more and more people.

“It isn’t just about new technology though, people are very much at the heart of what we do.

“Our programme of co-regulation with our customers has been really successful.

“We’ve recently launched an independent panel which helps to resolve customer complaints and our resident scrutiny team which examines services has been bolstered by new members, all of whom have received specialist training.”

The TPAS Awards recognise tenants who go the extra mile, landlords and tenants working together and great ideas that show what can be achieved when residents are involved with their housing provider.

The TPAS Central Awards final is being held on Friday, March 7 in Birmingham.

The winners will go forward to the national final, which will be held later in the year, where they will compete against the winners of the southern finals and northern finalists.

Formed in 1964, Derwent Living manages more than 20,000 properties in the Midlands, South Yorkshire and the south east.
