A SCHOOL near Ashbourne recently held an open day to give parents and potential students the opportunity to see what life as a pupil at the school is like.

Abbotsholme School academic staff were on hand throughout the day to show visitors around, and get to meet some of the schools farm animals, including new-born lambs, ducklings, and horses in its equestrian centre.

Head of marketing and admissions, Lucy Barnwell, said: “The day was very successful.

“We had record numbers turn up for a March open day with more than 40 families on the day, and a great mix of preparatory and senior parents.

“Everyone loved the new-born lambs, bacon butties in the tepee and equestrian display.”
