AN air ambulance charity is appealing for Ashbourne shops and business to support their lifesaving work by displaying a collection tin for customer donations.

Last year the Midlands Air Ambulance charity raised more than £400,00 through the service’s distinctive red collection tins, which will cover the aviation fuel costs for the three air ambulance helicopters during 2014.

Jason Levy, fund-raising manager, is extremely grateful for the on going support: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated their loose change to us as it has added up to make an incredibly important difference, and will enable our aircrews to continue their life saving work.

“If you have the facility to display one of our tins, we’d love to hear from you, just call us on 0800 840 2040.”
