I was born and bred in Ashbourne. My dad is John Goodall, my mum is Jane Howsego and my sister is Becky Goodall. I live with my partner Tammy James.

Shrovetide preparations:

I train for it, do a lot of talking about it.

Shrovetide snap:

Stew and beer.

Ending the night at:

It just depends if we score or not. If we’ve got something to celebrate we’ll be in The Vaults.

Best thing about Shrovetide:

The camaraderie, the atmosphere and the rivalry.

Worst thing about Shrovetide:

Outsiders.

If I ruled Shrovetide

I’d get rid of the rule where the ball is disallowed if it goes missing for more than an hour.

What designs would you have on your ball:

I’ve not had it painted yet, so I don’t know. It’ll be sporting sorts of things, something traditional.
