ASHBOURNE’S very own up and coming music stars have released their new video as Siblings.

The band formerly known as The Rash, signed up to Carbon Logic last year and a name-change swiftly followed.

Now, their new single, Colours, has been released complete with a video which fans can view at www.ashbournenewstelegraph.co.uk or search for on YouTube.

John Steele, Nathan Harrison, Bobby Eccles and John Dell, are half way through their year of focussing on making it in the music business and so far have made waves on the pop and rock scene.

Now working on a debut album, the lads have taken time out from writing and recording to play a short tour, which culminates on Friday, March 8 at The Venue in Derby.

The video was shot at Snorkel Studios in London and features an astonishing 300 costume changes.

The label’s commercials director and Siblings fan, Jonty Toosey dreamt up the video concept, which features all four men illustrating the ‘colours’ theme by wearing a rapidly changing series of brightly coloured outfits.

Mr Toosey said: “I really wanted to make the music video for Siblings’ new release and agreed to do something simple and easy that would give a taste of what this great band is all about - down to earth, a bit quirky and real.

“There is nothing manufactured about these guys, you hear it in their music and I tried to show it in my promo.

“The result looks simple enough but it was anything but.

“Great team work saved the film from descending into complete chaos with me loosely holding the reins.”

Stylist Tara Sugar took on the daunting challenge of sourcing clothes and dressing the band for the shoot.

She said:“Shooting ‘Colours’ with Siblings was one of my most extraordinary, adrenaline filled days at work - ever.

“It was like a flying trip through a vast multi-colored magic wardrobe.

“Luckily, the boys were up for any and everything - but I won’t count on seeing them sporting metallic spandex hot-pants in the future.”

The band, who have performed together since their days as students at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, have received some considerable acclaim over the last few months.

Last year Music City Post summed up the group:“Expect Vampire Weekened flavoured vibes from Siblings on their new single Colours.

“It’s a joyous bit of indie-pop from a group that has already seen acclaim from BBC Nottingham and Counterfeit magazine. All jangly surf guitar and an uncluttered DIY ethic – a Mumford and Sons on happy pills, if you will.”

And the single was also previewed by BBC London’s Robert Elms at the end of 2012 and also got a mention from BBC Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley.

Siblings will also be performing at The Duchess in York tomorrow, Lock 42 in Leicester on Friday and Notting Hill Arts Club in London on Sunday.
