Amber Valley go nap as Ladies seconds suffer defeat

ASHBOURNE LADIES 2ND 0

AMBER VALLEY HORNETS 5

ASHBOURNE Ladies seconds lost away to top of the league Amber Valley Hornets on Saturday.

hockeyAshbourne started well and were unlucky to be 1-0 down at half time with Sue Farr and Michelle Doran supporting attacking moves which had resulted in two shots coming off the post.

The second half saw Amber Valley come into their own, and quick passing and waves of attacking moves caught Ashbourne out and resulted in a flurry of goals.

That being said, Ashbourne’s defence played well throughout the match with Amy Dutton making some notable saves and Jen Naylor playing solidly throughout the match.

The return match could prove interesting and it would be hoped Ashbourne could prove up to the challenge.

ASHBOURNE: Dutton, Clayton, Farr, Lafferty, Ferry, Cliffe, Burdett, Taylor, Doran, Smith, Sellers, Derbyshire, Warner, Naylor.
