PARWICH pupil Bertie Linnell is celebrating after being part of a cross-country team that picked up two wins at a recent event.
Terra Nova, an independent school for pupils aged three to 13 years old, enjoyed two victories at the IAPS North West Cross Country Championships.
Twenty-two boys and girls went to the championships and the under-11 boys’ team of Linnell, Rafe Baker-Wilbraham, Tom Exley, Max Lord, Caspar Massey and Jack Soulsby came home triumphant in the team event.
Linnell (pictured far left), who comes from Parwich, finished third in the individual event, which team-mate Massey went on to win.
All six boys running for Terra Nova are in fact under the age of 10 and will be able to compete in the same event next year.
Andrew Lewin, the new headmaster, said: “I am very proud of all the runners, but to win is a marvellous achievement for the Under 11 boys.
“Cross country is one of the many different opportunities that the School offers for the children to enjoy.”
