ASHBOURNE ladies have started their winter season with two wins.
In the first match against Bradley House, Uttoxeter they managed a 3-2 win despite Jane McIntyre being out with injury.
At number two, Michelle Doran played brilliantly to win 3-1 after a slow start.
Number three Hilary Herridge let her racquet do the talking and romped home 3-0.
Number four Barbara Bradshaw then lost to a top Bradley House player, but Ashbourne won at number five as the opposition were short.
That was lucky for Ashbourne as number one Edwina Edwards had her worst game for years losing 3-0 to a much improved opponent.
The second match versus David Lloyds was convincing 4-1 win.
Edwards, Herride, Rebecca Avis and Janet Slater all won comfortably.
The only defeat was Doran, who lost 3-0.
