The result sees Brailsford leapfrog their beaten rivals into fourth place, although still some 22 points off the pace and having played one more match than all bar Heanor.

CHRIS Rogers has informed Derbyshire that he does not intend to return to the club in 2011 after accepting an offer from Middlesex.

The Australian left-hander has enjoyed three prolific campaigns since signing in 2008, scoring 14 centuries and a total of 3873 runs in the first-class game.

He was the club’s Player of the Year in 2009 and captained the team for more than two years after taking over the reins from Rikki Clarke midway through the 2008 season.

Head of cricket John Morris said: “Chris has been a great player, captain and ambassador for the past three years and I would like to thank him for all he has done during his time with us.

“He has been a great professional and a consistent scorer of big runs.”
