DAVID Lloyd Leisure Club in Derby was the venue for the latest Derbyshire Winter mini league match.
Ashbourne’s second mini red team — who ply their trade in Division Three for players aged 8 and under, encountered teams of a similar standard from Derbyshire Tennis Centre, Church Broughton, Stanton and Woodlands.
Kitty Scholes-Pryce, at number one, won two singles and lost two — one against Church Broughton’s Ben Rudge in a sudden death match that finished 10-9.
Millie Nye also won two and lost two, but warmed to the task against the Woodlands player, winning 10-2.
Isaac Harrington, at number three, won three and lost against Woodlands.
Hugh Zwolinski also won two matches 10-2 and lost two.
In the doubles, both pairs beat DTC and Church Broughton, but split the honours against Stanton when Kitty and Millie lost 10-9, but Isaac and Hugh cruised to a 10-1 finish.
There was also a split result against Woodlands, where Kitty and Millie lost 10-6, but Isaac and Hugh had an easy victory, winning 10-2.
Overall, Ashbourne beat Church Broughton 5-1, Stanton and DTC 4-2.
Their only loss was against Woodlands, 4-2
