ROB Donnelly was the winner of the Dethick Cup stableford competition at Ashbourne Golf Club with a superb score of 43 points off his handicap of 13.
Dan Potter, from Mayfield, amassed an incredible 47 points off his handicap of 24.
But Donnelly, from Belle Vue Road, took the overall trophy because the competition has a handicap limit of 18.
It was a day of low scoring in all three divisions with another Ashbourne resident, Pete Jessop, taking the first division with 39 points followed by the in-form Martin Murphy with 38.
Behind Donnelly in the second division was Mark Emmett with a score of 41 points.
Following Potter in division three was Lee Swinson with yet another remarkable score of 45 points, which, on any other day, might well have been good enough to take the top prize.
In the Derbyshire Golf League, the Ashbourne GC scratch team won promotion to division one, finishing as runners up to Erewash Valley.
Particular congratulations go to Dave Barrie Jnr, who took the individual title, winning all of the matches in which he played.
