ELLASTONE is holding its 31st annual show this weekend.

The Ellastone Horticulture, Produce and Handicraft Show takes place on Sunday, August 24, in the parish hall.

The show will be open to the public from 2pm.

There will be a number of classes to enter, including vegetables, flowers, cookery, art, handicrafts and photography.

There is also a new section for children this year, with trophies for the best exhibit in the cookery and art classes.

Last year, a competition was held to design a show logo for the 2014 event.

This was eventually won by 11-year-old Shannon Connell. Her design features on the Ellastone village website, as well as in the programmes and on posters.

There will be another competition at the show to find a new logo for next year's event.

Entries to all the classes will be accepted in the hall on Saturday, from 7pm to 9pm, and Sunday from 7am to 11am.

The Mayor and Mayoress of East Staffordshire, Councillor Ron Clarke and Margaret Clarke, will present the trophies.

Further details, including judging schedules, are available by e-mail at ellastoneshow@aol.co.uk, at www.ellastone.org or from the secretary on 01335 324228.
