Ashbourne: Warning to motorists of Wyaston Road closure

Comments (0)

A BUSY stretch of an Ashbourne road is to be closed for more than a month to enable essential widening work to be carried out.

Wyaston Road will be closed from next Monday until Friday, October 10.

The project is part of a planning condition set by Derbyshire Dales District Council.

The work must be carried out before developer Radleigh Homes can start building its Saxon Fields development.

Pedestrian access will be maintained but it will not be possible for vehicles to pass through the works, because of the narrowness of the road and the size of the construction machinery.

Vehicles will be diverted via Willow Meadow Road, Old Derby Road, Derby Road, Moor Lane (to Osmaston) and Quilow Road.

All businesses will be operating as usual for the duration of the works.

A spokesman for Derbyshire County Council said: "Radleigh Homes and ourselves apologise for any inconvenience caused while this work takes place."
