A LOCAL weather expert has given his take on the predicted storms due to arrive on Saturday.
Martin Harris, from the popular Facebook page Weather Update Derby has told the News Telegraph what he thinks might happen over the weekend, after the Met Office issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and the potential for flooding on Saturday.
Mr Harris said: “A large plume of warm air is due to make its way to the UK Saturday morning from the continent, this has great potential to create some well-developed thunderstorms over the weekend.
Saturday looks to be a warm day with temps around 21C, humidity will also be very high, so feeling very muggy and uncomfortable.
“These storms could potentially bring torrential rain and localised flooding to many areas of Derbyshire.”
