MATTHEW Hoggard, a former cricketer won £21,000 for a Derbyshire hospice by taking part in a popular game show.

Hoggard appeared on ITV’s The Chase Celebrity Special on Saturday night winning £42,000, which was equally split between Hoggard and Fern Britton.

Hoggard, who is a Patron of Rainbows, dedicated his prize fund to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

He said: "I am delighted to have been able to raise £21,000 for Rainbows from my win on Celebrity Chase. I had great fun taking part in the show and to be able to help such a good cause at the same time is a bonus."
