THE beauty of the Derbyshire landscape is no secret, but when one wonderful view of it after another is revealed in the space of an afternoon, it is sensational.
The excursion, organised by Anne Brown and with Beverley of Warrington's as driver, was enjoyed by 28 members of Ashbourne and District U3A.
The route, cleverly using lesser known byways, took us first to that little gem, Ilam, through to Hartington, crossing the A515 to Monyash, Ashford, Monsal Head, Wardlow, Eyam, Hathersage and Bamford.
The weather, being rather grey and misty, seemed to combine with all the greys and greens of the landscape to produce a magical effect which fed the spirit of the viewer.
The body was catered for by a delicious WI tea at Bamford, a great end to a "wonder-full" tour.
